ECE department offers Dual Degree 5 year IMTech Program in ECE, where in the students undergo rigorous training in

i) Core Engineering subjects including Algorithms, Programming, Computer Architecture, Computer Networking, & Operating Systems,

ii) Basic Maths & Science Courses,

iii) Basic Electronics and Communication courses in the first two years. In the last three years, students are mandated to take 6 electives of their choices from the courses offered from the Department, which are typically in the area of VLSI, Embedded Systems, Networking & Communication.

Additionally, the students have the flexibility to specialize in either of two streams offered by the Department – Networking & Communication (NC) & VLSI Systems. The students have an option to do Minor, either in AI-ML, Software Systems, Theoretical Computer Science, or Digital Society, by taking courses from outside the department.

The IMTech students have an option to do 11-month industrial internship in their 9^th and 10^th semester. The 10^th Semester is kept open for students to do thesis work with faculty or industrial internship. To make the curriculum more relevant, IMTech program have the option to work with the faculty in the form of Project or Reading Electives & earn credits for the same between 5^th to 9^th semester. ECE department offers two year MTech Program in ECE, where in the students undergo graduate level training. Students have to earn a minimum of 6 courses of their choices in the area of VLSI, Embedded systems, Networking & Communication.

The remaining 6 courses to complete 64 credits can be taken from other departments too. Typically MTech ECE students with background in ECE, EE, & E & Instrumentation take up 12 courses from the ECE department. Students have an option to do 11-months industrial internship. The department offers state-of-the-art teaching & research labs. Students can also specialize in either Networking-&-Communication or VLSI systems by earning 20 credits in that specific domain.

ECE department offers MS by research & PhD programs for students who are interested in pursuing focused work on few specific topics in the domain of Networking, Communication, VLSI Systems or Embedded Systems. Students admitted into this program are expected to work with ECE faculty and publish their work. The thesis of high quality is expected from the students. MS & Ph.D students have to earn a minimum of 16 credits of regular course work, and remaining of Thesis hours. The more detailed MS-PhD manual can be found in this link.

ECE department also offers skilling programs such as PG-Diploma Certificate program (Karnataka-VLSI) in the area of VLSI. This is structured around 6 months. We have also conducted executive programs for Industry Professionals. In the last two years we also did short 3 months awareness program in the area of VLSI for High School Students. Department has also offered 5G & 6G communication technologies based executive training programs to reputed organizations.
